How to Order Custom Ultimate Jerseys: Team Kit Guide

If you’re ordering your club’s first custom ultimate kit, the easiest way to avoid stress is to treat the order as a project with a few clear stages: decide what you need, collect your roster details, prepare the design information, approve the proof and leave enough time for production and shipping.

What should you order?

Your first team kit doesn’t need to contain every piece of teamwear imaginable.

For most new ultimate clubs, there are three sensible levels to consider.

The minimum: one jersey per player

If your club is playing its first season or working with a limited budget, one jersey per player can be enough to get started.

This gives everyone a matching team jersey without committing to a complete wardrobe of teamwear before you know how your roster will develop.

The standard setup: light + dark jerseys

For a more complete ultimate setup, we recommend two jerseys per player: one light and one dark.

Having both gives your team flexibility when playing opponents with similar colors and lets you build a consistent identity across two distinct designs.

For WFDF events, teams are required to bring at least two distinct shirt sets to each game. Other leagues and tournaments may have their own requirements, so always check the competition rules before ordering.

The full kit: jerseys, shorts and more

If your club wants a complete team look, you can add matching shorts and tank tops.

Additional teamwear can be worth adding once your roster and visual identity are established. For a brand-new club, though, it can make more sense to get the core kit right first and expand later.

Decide on the cut early

Manta Squadron jerseys are available in both a looser cut and a fitted cut. Players can choose the cut they prefer, so a mixed team can order both.

The important thing is to collect the cut and size for every player, not just the size.

Check the minimum order quantity

Manta Squadron produces in minimum runs of 10 pieces per item type.

That means 10 jerseys or 10 pairs of shorts, rather than 10 pieces across your entire order.

If your team has fewer than 10 players, the additional pieces can be kept as spares for new players, replacements or future roster changes.

How long does a custom ultimate kit take?

This is where team kit orders most often go wrong.

Don’t start with the question “How long does production take?”

Start with:

“When do we need the kit in our hands?”

Then work backwards.

That means you should plan for roughly 7–9 weeks before production finishes, plus shipping.

The 28-day production period starts once payment has cleared. Everything before that depends largely on how quickly your team provides its information, approves the design and confirms the order.

The most common delay is rarely production. It’s usually the three or four players who haven’t replied to the sizing form yet.

If you have a hard tournament or season deadline, tell us about it in your first message. It’s much easier to build a realistic timeline when everyone knows the deadline from the beginning.

How to collect team jersey sizes

Collecting sizes from an entire squad is one of the least exciting parts of ordering custom team jerseys.

It is also one of the parts most likely to delay your order.

Make it simple. Send one form or shared sheet with:

• Name
• Player number
• Cut
• Size

Don’t ask someone “Are you a medium?” and expect an accurate answer.

Give the team the actual garment measurements and ask them to compare those with a jersey that already fits them well.

Give your team a deadline

If you need the sizing information by Friday, tell the team you need it by Wednesday.

There will always be someone who forgets, goes on holiday or needs to ask someone else what size they usually wear.

Build that extra time into your process rather than letting it eat into your production window.

What if someone is between sizes?

Use the actual measurements rather than automatically choosing the size they normally wear from another brand.

Consider how the player wants the jersey to fit and whether they expect to wear additional layers underneath it.

If you’re unsure, ask us before finalizing the roster.

What do you need for the jersey design?

You don’t need finished artwork to start an order.

But you do need more than “we want blue.”

The more useful information you can provide at the beginning, the easier it is to turn your idea into a finished custom ultimate jersey.

Your team logo

Send your club crest or logo in the highest-quality format you have.

Vector formats such as .ai, .eps or .svg are ideal. A layered PDF can also work.

A low-resolution PNG pulled from Facebook may look fine on a screen but become soft when enlarged across a jersey. If that’s all you have, send it anyway. It’s much easier to solve the problem when we know about it early.

Your team colors

Two or three starting colors are enough.

If your club already has established colors, send the exact hex codes if you have them rather than relying on names such as “dark blue” or “bright red”.

A rough design direction

You don’t need to be a designer.

A sketch, moodboard, three jerseys you like from other clubs or even a few words describing the style you want can be enough to start the conversation.

Also tell us anything that is non-negotiable, such as:

• A sponsor logo.
• A particular color.
• A league or tournament requirement.
• A memorial or club detail that needs to appear.
• A specific player number or name format.

What sublimation lets you do

Manta Squadron jerseys are sublimated, which gives the design much more freedom than printing methods that are built around a limited number of colors.

Gradients, patterns, illustrations, full-bleed color and detailed artwork can all be used across the jersey.

That means you don’t need to design around an artificial two- or three-color limit. Start with what looks right for your team and let the production method support the design.

The custom ultimate jersey ordering process

The process is deliberately straightforward.

1. Get in touch. Tell us your club, roughly what you want, how many players are ordering and when you need the kit.
2. Build the order. We’ll send you an order sheet where you can add the items and quantities you need and see the price as the order develops.
3. Prepare the design. Send your logo, colors and rough design direction so the artwork can be developed around your actual kit.
4. Review the proof. You’ll receive a visual of the design on the actual kit shapes. This is the time to check everything carefully.
5. Approve the design. Once you’re happy with the proof, confirm it in writing.
6. Pay the invoice. Full payment is made by bank transfer before production begins.
7. Production. Standard production takes 28 days from payment.
8. Delivery. Once production is complete, the order ships to one address. Shipping time is additional to the production period.

The proof stage deserves particular attention. Once sublimated jerseys are in production, the artwork cannot simply be changed afterwards. Check names, numbers, colors, logos, sponsors and any league requirements before giving final approval.

Common team kit ordering mistakes

1. Starting the design before collecting sizes.Design is fun and sizing is admin, so teams naturally want to start with the exciting part. But getting the roster information organized early makes the rest of the order much smoother.
2. Leaving one person with all the information.Keep the final roster, artwork and supplier details somewhere the club can access them even if the captain changes next season.
3. Ordering exactly as many jerseys as you have players.Teams change. A couple of spare jerseys in common sizes can save you from having to place a small replacement order later.
4. Not checking competition rules.Some leagues and tournaments have requirements for numbers, colors, sponsor placement or other uniform details. Check them before the proof is approved.
5. Treating the proof as a formality.The proof is your final opportunity to catch mistakes before production. Check every name, number, logo and color properly.
6. Planning from the production time alone.Twenty-eight days of production does not mean you can order four weeks before your tournament. Sizing, design, approval and shipping all need time too.

Yes. The design proof is the stage where you review the actual kit design and check details such as colors, logos, names and numbers before giving final approval.

Can we get samples before ordering?

Manta Squadron does not currently provide sample sets. We work from measured sizing charts instead. If physical samples are essential to your club’s purchasing process, another supplier may be a better fit.

Can individual players pay separately?

Manta Squadron invoices the club once, with full payment by bank transfer before production. The club can then decide how it wants to collect payment from individual players.

What happens if someone chooses the wrong size?

Custom-made kit generally cannot be returned simply because a player selected the wrong size, which is why the sizing stage is important. Check the measurements carefully before the order is finalized. Faulty or incorrectly produced items are handled separately under the applicable terms of sale.

Do you ship custom ultimate jerseys outside Spain?

Yes. Manta Squadron ships across the EU and beyond. Shipping is separate from the 28-day production period, so allow additional transit time when planning around a tournament or season deadline.
