Ultimate Frisbee Jersey Size Chart: How to Choose Your Size

In summary

Choosing an ultimate frisbee jersey size comes down to two measurements: chest width and body length. Measure a jersey that already fits you well, then compare those measurements with the chart for your chosen cut.

  • Measure the jersey flat, not around the body.
  • Check width across the chest and length from shoulder to hem.
  • Choose your cut first, then compare the measurements against the correct chart.
  • Manta Squadron measurements are given in centimetres with a ±1cm tolerance.
  • Mixed sizes are completely normal. The 10-piece minimum applies per design, not per size.

Size charts can look intimidating when they’re presented as a wall of numbers. This one is simpler than it looks. There are two measurements, seven sizes and two cuts.

Here’s how to read the Manta Squadron ultimate frisbee jersey size chart and use it to choose the right size.

The two measurements that matter

Every Manta Squadron jersey is measured in the same two places:

  • Width: measured straight across the chest, between the armpits.
  • Length: measured from the highest point of the shoulder next to the collar down to the bottom hem.

Measure the jersey flat across the chest and from the shoulder to the bottom hem.

Lay the jersey flat and measure these two lines. That’s the whole chart.

The easiest and most reliable method is to take a jersey you already own that fits you the way you like, lay it flat and measure it in the same places.

Don’t rely on the label alone. A “medium” from one brand can have very different measurements from a medium in another brand.

Ultimate frisbee jersey size chart

All measurements below are taken with the jersey laid flat. Allow a ±1cm tolerance when comparing the chart with a jersey you have measured yourself.

Loose cut

SizeLengthWidth
XXS62 cm43 cm
XS65 cm46 cm
S68 cm49 cm
M71 cm52 cm
L74 cm55 cm
XL77 cm58 cm
XXL80 cm61 cm

Fitted cut

XXS58 cm40 cm
XS61 cm43 cm
S64 cm46 cm
M67 cm49 cm
L70 cm52 cm
XL73 cm55 cm
XXL76 cm58 cm

The two cuts use the same size labels from XXS to XXL, but their actual measurements are different. That’s why you should choose your cut before choosing your size.

How to choose your ultimate jersey size

Once you have a jersey that fits you well, the process takes just a few minutes.

  1. Choose your cut. Decide whether you want the loose or fitted cut.
  2. Lay your existing jersey flat. Smooth out the fabric without stretching it.
  3. Measure the width. Measure straight across the chest between the armpits.
  4. Measure the length. Measure from the highest point of the shoulder next to the collar to the bottom hem.
  5. Compare both measurements. Look at the chart for the cut you selected.
  6. Choose the size that gives you the fit you want. If you’re between sizes, consider which measurement matters more for how you want the jersey to fit.

Loose vs fitted jersey cuts

The difference between the two cuts is more than a name on the product page.

At the same size label, the fitted cut is narrower and shorter than the loose cut. For example, a size M measures 52cm wide and 71cm long in the loose cut, compared with 49cm wide and 67cm long in the fitted cut.

So if you normally wear a medium, don’t automatically choose medium without checking the measurements.

And don’t choose the cut based on gender alone. The cut is fundamentally a question of how you want the jersey to fit.

If you’re ordering for an entire team, see our Ultimate Frisbee Jersey Size Guide for more advice on collecting cuts and sizes from a mixed roster.

Not sure which size to choose?

Send us your measurements and we’ll help you compare them with the chart.

What if you’re between sizes?

Being between two sizes isn’t unusual, especially when you’re comparing a jersey from another brand with Manta Squadron’s measurements.

Start by looking at both measurements rather than focusing on the size label.

If your chest width is the measurement that is closest to the next size up but the length points toward the smaller size, think about how you prefer your jersey to fit.

For most players, chest width is the more important measurement. A jersey that is slightly longer than you are used to is generally easier to work with than one that is too tight across the chest.

If you’re still unsure, send us your measurements before finalizing the order. We’d rather help you choose the right size than have you guess.

Can you mix sizes in one team order?

Absolutely.

A team order can contain any combination of sizes. Your players don’t need to wear the same size, and they don’t need to use the same cut.

For example, a single design could include:

  • XXS loose
  • S fitted
  • M loose
  • L fitted
  • XL loose
  • XXL fitted

The 10-piece minimum applies per design, not per size. A team ordering seven different sizes in the same design still clears the minimum.

If you’re managing the order for a whole roster, our custom ultimate jersey ordering guide explains how to collect all the information and keep the process organized.

Why we use centimetres as the source measurement

All Manta Squadron sizing data is stored in centimetres.

If you view the product sizing information in inches, those figures are calculated automatically from the centimetre measurements. That means there is one underlying set of measurements rather than separate centimetre and inch charts that could accidentally get out of sync.

So if you see a small rounding difference after converting between units, use the centimetre figure as the source measurement.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure for an ultimate frisbee jersey?

Lay a jersey that already fits you well flat. Measure straight across the chest between the armpits for the width, then measure from the highest point of the shoulder next to the collar to the bottom hem for the length. Compare both measurements with the Manta Squadron chart for your chosen cut.

Are Manta Squadron jersey sizes measured flat?

Yes. The measurements in the chart are taken with the jersey laid flat. Width is measured straight across the chest between the armpits, while length is measured from the shoulder to the bottom hem.

What is the sizing tolerance?

Manta Squadron allows a ±1cm tolerance on the garment measurements.

What is the difference between the loose and fitted cuts?

The fitted cut is narrower and shorter than the loose cut at the same size label. Both cuts are available from XXS to XXL. Choose the cut based on how you want the jersey to fit, then select the size using that cut’s measurements.

Should I choose my normal jersey size?

Not automatically. Jersey sizes vary between brands and cuts. The most reliable approach is to measure a jersey that already fits you well and compare those measurements with the Manta Squadron chart.

Which measurement matters most if I’m between sizes?

For most players, chest width is the more important measurement. A jersey that is slightly longer is generally easier to work with than one that is too tight across the chest. If you’re unsure, contact us with your measurements before ordering.

Can a team order mixed sizes?

Yes. Teams can order any combination of sizes in the same design. The 10-piece minimum applies to the design, not to individual sizes.

Can a team order both loose and fitted cuts?

Yes. Players can choose different cuts within the same team order. Just make sure each player checks the sizing chart for the cut they have selected.

Are the inch measurements exact?

Centimetres are the source measurements. Inch values are calculated from those figures when the unit setting is changed on a product page, so small rounding differences can occur.
